Mary Abdou Shehata, DMD
Dr. Shehata is originally from Egypt. She graduated from dental school twice, the first time in 1992 from Mansoura University in Egypt. Dr. Shehata earned her Masters in Fixed Prosthetic Dentistry and Root Canal treatment while working as an Assistant Professor at Mansoura University.
Dr Shehata decided to move to the United States in 2001 to follow her family. She started Dental school at UNLV and graduated the second time. She graduated among the top of her class with Magna Cum -Laude. Dr. Shehata was elected 2 years to serve in the honor committee of the school.
Dr. Shehata is currently an active member of ADA, AGD and NDS.
Mary is married to Dr. Adel Shehata, who is a cardiologist, and has 2 boys who study at UNLV. When Dr. Shehata is not working, she enjoys spending her time with her family doing activities and serving their community.
Since Dr Shehata started to practice dentistry, she adopted principles that she vowed to always follow; honesty and loyalty to her patients and profession. She is one who always gives priority to her patients' needs, respects their time and understands their emergencies.
Dr. Shehata also adopted a model to appreciate and respect her staff and always admire the hard work they exert to make the patients feel comfortable and welcome.
When asked which branch of dentistry Dr. Shehata likes the most she said "I love the challenge and uniqueness that come with each individual cosmetic case as well as the reward of seeing the creation of beautiful smiles; however I love and enjoy practicing all aspects of dentistry."
